Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth to undergo transformative makeover

Cunard Queen Elizabeth

Cunard has announced refurbishment for its luxurious liner, Queen Elizabeth, marking a significant milestone as the ship prepares for her inaugural Caribbean programme from Miami and her debut Alaska season from Seattle in 2025.

The extensive refit is scheduled to take place from 25 February to 13 March 2025 at Seatrium’s Admiralty Yard in Singapore. Following this transformation, Queen Elizabeth will embark on her new Alaska season starting in June and will set sail on her first Caribbean voyage from Miami on 16 October. This inaugural Caribbean season will feature a 12-night roundtrip itinerary from Miami, allowing guests to explore remarkable destinations such as Bridgetown in Barbados and the vibrant markets of Castries in Saint Lucia.

For the first time in Cunard’s illustrious history, Queen Elizabeth will dedicate an entire season to roundtrip Caribbean voyages, with itineraries ranging from 9 to 28 nights. Guests can look forward to idyllic escapes to famous locales, including Montego Bay, San Juan, and St. John’s.

The refurbishment will enhance Queen Elizabeth’s signature interiors and exteriors, creating a harmonious blend of tranquility and vibrancy. Key spaces, including the Commodore Club, Queens Room, Panorama Pool Club, Garden Lounge, and The Pavilion, will be thoughtfully revitalised to enhance the guest experience, providing serene areas for relaxation and al fresco dining.

The Grills experience, synonymous with Cunard’s luxury offerings, will also see significant enhancements. Guests in the exclusive Grills suites will enjoy upgraded interiors and exteriors, featuring exquisite furnishings and sophisticated design. Additionally, a new Gala Evening menu, crafted by renowned Michelin-starred chef Michel Roux, will elevate the Grills dining experience, showcasing expertly curated dishes that celebrate the finest culinary experiences at sea.

Another notable addition is The Pavilion Wellness Café, which will serve a plant-based menu alongside sustainably sourced meat, fish, and dairy. Guests can also participate in the Harper’s Bazaar Wellness at Sea programme, offering tailored packages focused on relaxation, energy restoration, and recovery.

Katie McAlister, President of Cunard, expressed her enthusiasm for the upcoming transformations, stating, “This refurbishment marks an exciting new chapter for Cunard. Inspired by the beauty of these extraordinary destinations, the ship’s revitalisation will seamlessly blend timeless elegance with modern comforts, creating an unparalleled guest experience.”

As Queen Elizabeth embarks on this new journey, Cunard is poised to offer an exceptional blend of luxury, culinary excellence, and wellness, ensuring that every voyage is as memorable as the destinations themselves.
