The Ministry of Tourism Government of India, in collaboration with Uttar Pradesh Tourism, organised the Bundelkhand Tourism Stakeholders Meet followed by a Familiarisation (FAM) Tour in Jhansi and nearby destinations to showcase the region’s tourism potential.
The meet was held at Natraj Sarovar Portico Jhansi and brought together around 80 participants, including tour operators, travel agents, tour guides, hoteliers, homestay operators, media representatives, and officials from the Ministry of Tourism, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, the State Archaeology Department, Bundelkhand University, and Jhansi Museum. The initiative aimed to highlight Bundelkhand’s tourism potential and strengthen collaboration between tourism stakeholders and government agencies.
The event began with a welcome of dignitaries and ceremonial lamp lighting. Sandeep Shukla, Assistant Director, Ministry of Tourism, welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in promoting tourism in Bundelkhand. D.K. Sharma, Regional Tourist Officer, Uttar Pradesh Tourism, highlighted the role of integrated tourism development in boosting regional economic growth.
Anirudh Rawat, President of the Bundelkhand Travel Agents Association, spoke about opportunities for travel trade partnerships and strategies to promote Bundelkhand as an important tourism circuit. Prof. Devesh Nigam, Head of Department and Dean at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Bundelkhand University, shared an academic perspective and emphasised the importance of skill development in strengthening the tourism ecosystem.
Addressing the stakeholders, Arun Srivastava, Joint Director General and Regional Director (North), Ministry of Tourism, spoke about various initiatives undertaken by the Ministry to promote sustainable tourism and encourage greater participation from the travel and hospitality industry.
A detailed presentation on the registration process for service providers on the NIDHI Portal of the Ministry of Tourism was delivered by Awanish Kumar, Tourist Information Officer, encouraging stakeholders to register and become part of the national tourism database.

The conference concluded with a vote of thanks by Sanjay Kumar, Tourist Information Officer, Ministry of Tourism, followed by a B2B networking session that provided an opportunity for tourism stakeholders, media representatives, and officials to interact and explore potential collaborations.
As part of the initiative, a three-day FAM Tour from March 7 to 9, 2026, had been organised for participants to experience key tourism attractions in and around Jhansi. The tour aimed to familiarise travel trade and media representatives with the historical, cultural, and heritage sites of the Bundelkhand region, enabling them to promote these destinations more effectively among domestic and international tourists.
This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, and Uttar Pradesh Tourism to promote Bundelkhand as an emerging destination on the national and international tourism map.
