For over a decade, Balitrip Wisata, an Indian Destination Management Company (DMC) operating in both Bali and India, has been at the forefront of promoting Bali tourism. Speaking to TTJ, Dheeraj Ranjan Kumar, Founder of Balitrip Wisata, shared insights into the Indian market’s performance:

“Balitrip is now well-established across all Indian markets. Mumbai has always been amazing for us, while Maharashtra and Gujarat are among our key contributors. Eastern India, including Kolkata and Guwahati, is performing very well, especially in the MICE and group travel segments.”

Commenting on future growth, he added, “For Bali, there will always be incremental growth. It all depends on increased flight connectivity from India. With more flight inventory, the destination will only grow further.”

This year’s roadshow is themed “Focus. Delivery. Value.”, underlining Balitrip Wisata’s commitment to being a quality-driven B2B DMC for Bali, with a focus on service excellence, product innovation, and long-term partnerships.

“We are getting the numbers now, but our goal remains consistent: quality and value in every trip,” asserted Dheeraj.

Also present at the event was Bapak Herdy D. Sayogha, Managing Partner at Balitrip Wisata in Bali and a veteran with over 40 years of experience in Balinese hospitality, who oversees the company’s on-ground operations. He noted,

“We understand the Indian’s love for Bali. That is why we aim to cover as many Indian markets as possible. We always come with some innovation, and we are very happy with the response.”

Sayogha also acknowledged that while India is still growing compared to more conventional markets like Japan, Europe, and Australia, it holds tremendous potential.

“We are confident that more and more Indians will visit Bali in the coming years. We also encourage them to explore other equally attractive parts of the country. However, the key challenge remains air connectivity,” he added.

During his presentation, Dheeraj announced the company’s expansion plans, which include new offerings beyond Bali, such as Lombok, the Gili Islands, and the Komodo Islands. He also unveiled Balitrip Wisata’s new initiative, Balitrip Maharaya Chambers, a curated circle of refined, rare, and deeply personal experiences aimed at elevating the luxury segment of Bali tourism.

Looking beyond Indonesia, Balitrip Wisata is also set to add the Philippines and Sri Lanka to its destination portfolio.

“The Philippines is an emerging market and quite similar to Indonesia in many ways. There is rising demand from Indian travellers, and the Philippines government is taking proactive steps to ease travel, including visa facilitation and discussions on direct flights,” said Dheeraj.

Another key milestone for the company is its growing team, now over 100 employees strong across India and Bali, a testament to its expanding footprint and commitment to service excellence and stress-free travel.

The evening concluded with engaging presentations by all 20 Bali exhibitors, many of whom highlighted the availability of Indian breakfast and cuisine at their properties. A series of exciting lucky draws and a networking dinner added the perfect finishing touch to a successful Mumbai showcase.

Following successful roadshows in Ahmedabad and Kolkata, the Balitrip Wisata India Roadshow will conclude in Kochi, Kerala, today.
