Autograph Collection Hotels, part of Marriott Bonvoy’s global portfolio, has made its debut in India with the opening of Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal, Autograph Collection. The 176-room palace-style hotel, located along the historic Grand Trunk Road in Karnal, Haryana, also becomes Marriott Bonvoy’s 19th brand in the country, further strengthening its growing luxury and lifestyle portfolio in India.
Positioned as a ‘collectors’ palace’, the hotel reflects a strong sense of place, blending India’s royal heritage with contemporary design. The property houses one of the region’s most extensive collections of art and artefacts, drawing inspiration from Mughal, Rajput, Punjabi and Persian influences.
Speaking on the launch, Colonel Manbeer Choudhary, CMD, Noor Mahal Group, said, “This is more than just a business tie-up; it is a milestone for the region. Noormahal is a heartfelt tribute to India’s past era, brought to life with a deep sense of pride, detail, and authenticity. With Marriott International as a strong partner, we can now share this vision with a wider global audience, while continuing to deliver experiences that are rich in character, scale, and reflect a true sense of occasion.”
He added, “Noormahal is no longer just a local treasure; it is now a global destination through the Marriott Bonvoy platform. Guests can expect the same legendary hospitality, now enhanced by global expertise. From award-winning restaurants like The Frontier Mail to newer concepts such as Colonel Saab, every corner of this palace continues to tell a story of art and grandeur. Today, we celebrate not just a partnership, but a commitment to excellence, and invite the world to discover Noormahal, where history meets ultra-luxury.”
Kiran Andicot, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Marriott International, highlighted the strategic significance of the launch. He said, “As we introduce the Autograph Collection brand to India, Noormahal, Delhi NCR Karnal joins a global portfolio of over 360 hotels across 55 countries. This is our 235th hotel in South Asia and marks the introduction of our 19th brand in India. Today, Indian travellers increasingly seek stays that are distinctive, design-led, and rooted in cultural authenticity. Autograph Collection arrives at a moment of strong relevance for the market. Noor Mahal brings this to life beautifully, where India’s regal heritage meets contemporary artistry to create rich, immersive moments for the modern design-conscious traveler. NoorMahal is truly ‘Exactly Like Nothing Else’, and we are thrilled to introduce the Autograph Collection experience to India’s discerning travellers.”
Thanking Colonel Manbeer, Mrs. Binny Choudhary, along with Roop Partap Choudhary, for their vision and commitment in creating this property, he said, “Our strategy since entering India in 1999 has been to find the right partners and grow with them, and we could not have found a better partner to introduce the Autograph Collection. Growth is not just about numbers; it is about the right locations, the right hotels, and creating meaningful experiences.”
Andicot noted that the brand’s positioning aligns with evolving travel trends. “Autograph Collection is not just about the product, but about individuality and a strong sense of place. Noormahal represents a perfect fit with its distinct identity. Karnal, as a destination, is also gaining prominence, especially as a drive-to location from major cities. The property offers a strong blend of heritage, scale and luxury, which resonates well with Marriott Bonvoy’s global base of nearly 271 million members,” he said.
The hotel features 176 guestrooms and suites, including signature penthouses such as Raja Niwas and Khwabgah, which offer private terraces, expansive living spaces and dedicated butler service. Designed to balance classical Indian aesthetics with modern comforts, each room incorporates bespoke furnishings and rich textiles.

Dining at the property includes four distinct venues: The Frontier Mail, specialising in North-Western frontier cuisine; Colonel Saab, an all-day dining restaurant offering Indian and international fare; The Polo Bar; and The Cake Factory.
Beyond its architectural grandeur, the hotel offers a comprehensive range of wellness and recreational facilities, including a full-service spa, outdoor pool, fitness centre, tennis and pickleball courts, ziplining, rock climbing and a dedicated kids’ play zone.
With over 300,000 square feet of event space, including expansive lawns such as Rani ka Bagh and Raja ka Bagh, along with Sheesh Mahal and Darbar Hall, the property is positioned as a key destination for weddings, social celebrations and large-scale events in North India.
