ATOAI announces its 17th Annual Adventure Convention in Srinagar

The Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has announced that its 17th Annual Adventure Convention will take place in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, from December 17–20, 2025. The landmark edition showcases the revival, resilience, and renaissance of India’s adventure tourism landscape in one of the world’s most iconic mountain destinations.

Organised in close collaboration with the Government of Jammu and Kashmir, the flagship convention will unite industry leaders, policymakers, experts, and stakeholders from across India to engage on the theme: “Indian Adventure Tourism: Safe, Sustainable and Resilient.”

The convention will focus on reviving adventure travel, strengthening safety and sustainability frameworks, and positioning India as a global leader in responsible adventure tourism.

Set against the stunning backdrop of Kashmir’s snow-capped peaks, alpine meadows, and tranquil valleys, the convention embodies a deeper message, that Jammu & Kashmir is open, welcoming, and ready to lead India’s adventure renaissance. The region’s timeless beauty is now complemented by world-class infrastructure, renewed safety standards, and community-driven tourism initiatives, showcasing a harmonious balance between nature, adventure, and progress.

Over three days, the convention will feature:

  • High-impact keynote sessions and panel discussions led by prominent voices in adventure tourism.
  • Workshops and masterclasses focused on safety, sustainability, innovation, and skill development.
  • Awards of Excellence recognising best practices and outstanding contributions within the adventure sector.
  • An immersive field visit to Pahalgam, showcasing eco-sensitive adventure tourism models that empower local communities while preserving fragile natural ecosystems.

Ajeet BajajAjeet Bajaj, President of ATOAI, said, “Hosting our annual convention in Jammu & Kashmir is both symbolic and significant. It reaffirms our belief that adventure in India can be both safe and sustainable, and that J&K stands as a shining example of resilience, beauty, and boundless potential.”

He added, “Our mission is to position India among the world’s leading adventure destinations, one that respects nature, empowers local people, and ensures every traveller feels inspired, secure, and connected to the land they explore.”

In line with ATOAI’s commitment to sustainability, the convention will be organised as a net-zero event, with a focus on minimising environmental impact and encouraging eco-friendly practices across all aspects of the programme.
