Air India and Thai Airways International (THAI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore a deeper strategic partnership aimed at enhancing connectivity between India, Thailand and destinations beyond.
The agreement was signed on June 7, 2026, on the sidelines of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Annual General Meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Building on their existing interline partnership, the two Star Alliance member airlines intend to establish a codeshare agreement in 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The proposed arrangement is expected to expand travel options for passengers and improve connectivity across the carriers’ respective networks.
Under the planned codeshare partnership, Air India and THAI aim to place their airline codes on each other’s services between India and Thailand, as well as on select international routes beyond their home markets. The collaboration is expected to provide customers with improved access to destinations across Asia, Europe and North America through seamless connections.
