The Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) celebrated its 29th Founders Day on August 7, 2025 at The Lalit, New Delhi, with the theme ‘Independence Day’. The venue was adorned with tri-colour decorations and a backdrop reading “29 Glorious Years”. The event saw the attendance of dignitaries, ADTOI members, media representatives, and a large number of invitees.
Squadron Leader Rana T.S. Chhina was the Chief Guest, accompanied by serving officers from the Armed Forces. Founder Members and Past Presidents were honoured during the occasion, with each sharing brief remarks and anecdotes from their tenure, reflecting on the Association’s journey and growth.

A key highlight was the presentation of the ADTOI Knowledge and Research (AKR) Award by the ADTOI Management Team, led by President Ved Khanna, to Ashwani Lohani, Director of the Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library Society. Recognised for his extensive contributions to the tourism industry, Lohani expressed his gratitude to the Association for the honour.
In his address, Khanna spoke about Lohani’s significant role in shaping and supporting India’s tourism sector.
The AKR Award was instituted to recognise eminent personalities in the tourism industry who contribute to its growth. The first award was posthumously conferred upon Shri Anil K. Rajput for his efforts in promoting lesser-known destinations and conducting on-the-ground research to develop and publicize such areas among travellers.
